Ramona Martinez

About

Ramona Martinez fronts Ramona and the Holy Smokes, a band dedicated to authentic honky-tonk and classic country sounds rooted in 1950s-70s tradition. Her commanding vocals—compared to Patsy Cline for their clarity and sincerity—deliver honest songs about heartache and resilience without irony or pastiche. Martinez represents a vital voice in contemporary country, reminding the genre of its own cultural complexity and working-class roots.
