Meet the Rugged Crew
The heartbeat of The Rugged Revival.
The Rugged Crew is our handpicked team of passionate music lovers, gig-goers, and storytellers who help shine a light on independent artists around the world. From Austin to Atlanta, Lexington to Nashville, these are the folks showing up, capturing moments, spreading the word, and building real community from the ground up.
They help us discover rising talent, document the scene, and sometimes even co-host the podcast. Most importantly, they believe in what we believe: that music matters, stories deserve to be heard, and no artist should go unseen.
Think of them as our boots on the ground - real people, real places, all in for the music.
Want to join them? You might just fit right in.
Kenzie is our First Lady of The Rugged Revival!
She's an avid lover of all things music and is passionate about creativity in general!
"Do what you’re meant to do, not what someone tells you to do."
The drive to bring music that needs to be heard to listening ears is what makes Kenzie happy.
"I’m fortunate to have connected with the guys at The Rugged Revival Podcast who are doing exactly that! Beyond excited to be a part of this team!"
Kenzie lives in Lexington, KY — where there is so much talent. She's excited to cover independent artists from not only the Lexington area, but other surrounding areas too.
"There’s so many great artists in these hollers it’d be a shame not to know!”
Kenzie is an amazing addition to the team - so, if you see her out on the road, please stop and say hello. She will be reporting on gigs, conducting interviews, and showcasing all of the talent Kentucky has to offer!
Gary Hector's journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Hailing from Trinidad & Tobago, he's spent decades pioneering Caribbean rock, fronting bands like Oddfellows Local and Jointpop, and sharing stages across the U.S. and Europe.
Now, with a deep love for Americana, Outlaw Country and Roots songwriting, Gary is carving out something entirely his own: "Trinicana" - a raw, poetic fusion of North American tradition and island soul. With no established scene for this sound back home, Gary became a scene of one.
Gary reached out to us expressing his desire to join our mission.
He says:
"The Rugged Revival is one of the few places doing it the real way - roots, and for the music and people."
We're honoured to have Gary on-board, helping us to spotlight incredible independent artists and scenes from every corner!
